Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a virtual session like? Is it as good as an in-person session?

A: Virtual sessions have become extremely popular during COVID-19, although we have offered them to current clients for years. A virtual session is very valuable, since we are able to connect and go over movement together. Virtual sessions are centered around your goals; we aim to educate and inspire while providing evidence-based programming. Some people even prefer virtual sessions because they can participate from anywhere in the world!

Q: Is it safe to do a stretch session with COVID19?
A: Foxy FIT complies with all CDC guidelines and local government recommendations. For a full update on protocol during COVID19, please click here.

Q: What do I need to fill out before I come in?
A: Please click here to complete the new client forms. You can email them to info@befoxyfit.com, or bring them to your first session.

Q: What is a typical session like?
A: Each session is personalized to the individual’s needs. We take a detailed health history and goal assessment before the first session, and discuss with each client at their first visit. We use a variety of assessments, exercises, and soft tissue methods to improve mobility, reduce pain, increase flexibility and decrease stress. Methods include Graston Technique, fascial stretch therapy, neuromuscular facilitation, retraining movement patterns, corrective exercise, and mindfulness techniques. We finish with homework. :-) We strive to empower clients with the tools they need to feel better 24/7 — not just when they leave our office!

Q: Who is your typical client?
A: Because of our specialized expertise, we assist a variety of people with multiple medical concerns, bone/joint problems, and complicated medical histories. Mallory enjoys the challenge of creating a program that will work WITH the client to move, feel, and ultimately live better. She communicates actively with the client’s team of medical professionals to ensure quality care. Mallory also assists professional athletes in enhancing performance, improving recovery, and preventing injury. Clients who book with Mallory tend to have high expectations: they are well-educated, successful in their fields, eager to improve every aspect of their lives, and value education.

Q: What do I wear?
A: Anything you can comfortably move in (yoga clothes, gym clothes, etc). Wear closed-toe shoes for exercise; you may be barefoot for the assisted stretching. Jewelry may be removed if needed.

Q: What is mindful movement?
A: Ahh…mindful movement incorporates mindfulness techniques (breathwork, meditation, visualization, among others) along with a variety of movement modalities to improve mobility, reduce tension, and develop stress resilience. Its gentle and effective. Learn more from participants of our 30 Days of Mindful Movement course here.

Q: What is fascial stretch therapy?
A: Fascial stretch therapy is a PAIN FREE assisted stretch that facilitates movement through the entire body, including organs, connective tissue, joint capsules, as well as muscles.

Q: What is Graston Technique?
A: Graston Technique is an instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization technique. It is helpful for tendonitis and other soft tissue concerns.

Q: What is corrective exercise?
A: Corrective exercise is a protocol developed by Dr. Michael Clarke and the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Corrective exercise utilizes proven methods to re-educate tissue to move better, thereby preventing injury.

Q: Do you take insurance?
A: No, which allows us to treat you best. If we were to accept insurance, we would have to follow specific parameters that might not allow us to get to the root of your issue. The flexibility of being able to use whichever treatments, assessments and exercises that are best for the individual client allows us to provide the highest quality care. Also, by not accepting insurance, it gives us the ability to keep our prices competitive and have wide availability on our schedule for clients to book.
