What we love: CIVANA Wellness Resort and spa !
Last week, I was gifted a two-night stay at a luxury wellness center in Carefree, Arizona. I’m so excited to feature CIVANA today and share about my experience.
Like many, all of my plans for 2020 changed.
I love to travel and tend to wait for a getaway to fully allow myself to recharge. Who can relate to this? There’s something magical about putting “real life” on hold to go experience a new place, activities or foods.
2020 had me experiencing a lot of the same: the same rooms in my house, Zoom meetings vs my office at the gym, connecting via FaceTime vs happy hours, and traveling to my backyard vs Hawaii.
I used 2020 to develop routines to help me embrace mindfulness without the “getaway”.
And I worked to help you do this, too! I launched my 30 Days of Mindful Movement Program, a mindful minute text messaging service, and countless blog and Instagram posts about mindfulness and movement.
HOWEVER . . .
Nothing is quite as special as truly “getting away” to a place where every detail is designed to help you relax, recharge, and renew.
That’s why I’m SO excited to share about my CIVANA getaway!
All about Civana wellness resort and spa
From before I set foot on property, I felt that my vacation experience was going to be legendary. I received a call from a well-being guide to help me reserve classes and make spa reservations. I wanted to experience new things while having time to rest and do what my body needed that day. After I shared my goal with the well-being guide. I had a lot of ease heading into my trip, knowing that I had a few things planned and many hours to chill.
I was also pleased with their COVID-19 policies. After being closed for four months due to COVID restrictions, CIVANA has invested in many features to help keep people safe (including hand sanitizer stations, plexiglass screens, room sanitization seals, physical distancing, limited occupancy, guest wellness screening, mandatory face coverings, and more). I felt very safe during my stay.

As you can see, there’s an abundance of things to do, classes to try, and opportunities to unwind at CIVANA.
But my favorite part? The people.
Everyone I met, from the bellhop to the spa attendants to the restaurant manager to the teachers and other guests at the resort were friendly, kind, and on board for living a well life.
My top ten loves:
This was sooo hard to narrow down! Here’s my best attempt, in no particular order:
Tree Hugger Toast for breakfast at the Seed Cafe
Restorative Stretch on the lawn with Joshua
Sunset Sound Healing with the fire, sound bowls and Aztec drums
Floating Meditation in aerial silks
Mocktails for Happiest Hour at the Terras bar (with lots of alcoholic options available, too!)
The desert view from my king size bed
My spa day: private aqua therapy circuit followed by an amazing 90- minute massage with Laurence
The daybeds at the pool
Morning Intention setting and nighttime gratitude ceremonies
Reminders around property to slow down (especially the reading nook!).

Have you visited CIVANA yet? I’d love to hear if you have, or if it’s on your goal list!
I would love to host a retreat there this year. If you’d be interested, let me know (I always perform better under pressure).
I’d love to hear what you love!
