Meet Kenyatta Banks of Arsenal by Kenyatta!

I’ve met hundreds (or thousands) of health and fitness professionals in my 15-year career, and this guy is one of the best.

I met Kenyatta when we both taught at a local studio. He taught packed fitness classes to people who came out of class drenched, lit up, and on fire.

I wanted to take his class; I was recovering from a lung infection and was really nervous about trying something so challenging.

I took a leap and tried his battle rope class.

I hated every second of that difficult class. . . I dislike sweating, I hate feeling weak, and I like to be really good at things I try (spoiler alert: I was not good at battle ropes).

But something cool happened in that thirty minute class.

I found a part of myself that I forgot was there.

I found my inner fighter in the mirror. More importantly, in that short class, Kenyatta facilitated a reintroduction to that girl.

It takes a gifted coach to inspire, empower, and ignite a person to confront their inner struggles.

Kenyatta is that gifted coach.

Its an honor to introduce him to you today.

meet Kenyatta banks!

Kenyatta, I have a feeling my readers will be totally cool with you shirtless vs wearing lululemon!

What do you like most about your favorite lululemon product?

I think I have one shirt, material feels good. Lol

Tell us about this one thing you can't live without!

I love to laugh and aside from fitness, I think laughter is great therapy. Luckily my best friends are comedians who keep me laughing.

I think laughter is infectious!!! Also, I’m digging this custom Arsenal shirt! You can order your own on Kenyatta’s website.

How do you practice kindness to your body?

I workout, cold plunge, hot tub, massage, listen to motivational speeches, and theta waves to help me sleep.

The body kindness rituals are definitely paying off in that high jump!

What else do you want to share with our community?

I just started a patreon account that has daily workouts, podcasts and more. I wanted to share more about who I am as a person, not just a fitness professional. It's called inside the arsenal.

I also just started teaching at The Pound Gym, here in Scottsdale.

Also co-hosting a fitness retreat in Ithaki, Greece summer 2021.

(Note from Mallory: I’ve seen pics and this retreat is on my bucket list!!! Be sure to connect with Kenyatta to learn more about the retreat.)

Thank you, Kenyatta, for letting me feature you! and thank you all for reading.

I’ll be back Monday with your mindful minute. Have a happy and safe weekend!
